About

The Settlers Landing Community Association (SLCA) works every day to make our neighborhood a better place to live and raise families. We promote and protect the interests of Settlers Landing residents, foster a healthy interest in the civic affairs of the community, encourage social interaction, and develop good citizenship among residents.

Here are some of the tangible things we do:

  • Maintain safe and attractive entrances at Early Settlers Road and Wrens Nest Road
  • Sponsor special events at the community pool at the north end of Wrens Nest Road, and at Greenfield Elementary
  • Sponsor a Community Yard Sale every spring and fall
  • Publish a neighborhood newsletter (THE CROW’S NEST), produce a bi-annual community directory, and send e-mail alerts on community matters and upcoming events
  • Represent Settlers Landing’s interests before the county and state government

Without the generous support of community volunteers, the SLCA can’t rake a single leaf. Without your membership dues, we can’t buy a single decoration. In short, your participation in the Association is essential to achieving common objectives that no one could accomplish individually.

The SLCA Board of Directors meets on the first Thursday of every month (except during the summer) at 7:00 p.m. at the Greenfield Elementary School library. You are invited to come and talk with your neighbors about what is happening in our neighborhood and Chesterfield County.

The Annual Meeting and Open House is held on the first Thursday of every March. A guest speaker is usually invited and refreshments are served. Past speakers have included Dan Gecker, Midlothian District Supervisor, and Gale Cushing, former principal at Greenfield Elementary.

You can also join the SLCA by contacting our Treasurer. Annual membership dues are $20 and are due by April 1 of each year. Your dues help the Association pay for expenses such as:

  • Maintenance of signage, brickwork and landscaping on medians
  • Liability insurance for the medians and association activities
  • Supplies for community events like National Night Out and the Holiday Gala
  • Ads in the Times-Dispatch, banner, and directional signage for bi-annual community yard sales
